Ruby toned Footed Tea Cup and Saucer adorned with white, red, and green foliage along the inner rim. greenery around the inside of cup rim. Cup measures 3.5” in diameter and 2.74” tall ~ saucer measures 5.75” in diameter. Stamp: The reverse of both bears the Paragon Double Warrant hallmark “By appointment to HM the Queen & HM Queen Mary, Fine China England 1940c This set is in wonderful vintage condition with no cracks, chips nor crazing. There appears to be a tiny scratch on the plate that is barely noticeable. Please see pictures for details. Some background info on the company, Paragon: The Paragon name evolved from the famous Star China Company, who began using the name in 1903. The originators were Herbert James Aynsley (son of John Aynsley who founded John Aynsley & Sons), John Gerrard Aynsley and William Illingworth. In 1920 Paragon China became The Paragon CCompany. The fine quality of it’s china resulted in several royal warrants of appointments from Queen Mary, the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth.
