Guess what the old lady swallowed now ?...
This is the Halloween version of the "There was an Old Lady..." series by Lucille Colandro. The story includes rhyme and repetition and many spooky unedible items the old lady swallows.
This bin lends itself to learning numeracy concepts such as counting, sorting, pattern making. It can also aid in early literacy concepts such as listening, retelling, sequencing, word recognition and many more.
You can also use it as an open ended multisensory activity with endless possibilities.

-bag of black beans
-bag of assorted natural items (sticks, pinecones, logs)
-several artificial pumpkins
-painted wooden cutouts of bats, cats, owls, goblins, wizards, ghosts
-small bag of plastic bones
-small bag of rocks
-painted wooden peg doll (old.lady)
-8 silicone muffin cups
- 1 gator grabber (fine motor practise)
